The Vice President-elect, Kashim Ibrahim Shettima has stated that he will be protected by Christians during the new administration starting on the 29th of May, 2023.
Kashim Ibrahim Shettima, a former Governor of Borno State and incumbent federal lawmaker representing Borno Central in the red chamber of the national assembly stated this today while speaking at a lecture in Abuja forming part of the events around Tinubu’s inauguration on May 29.
In his speech, he said; “Politics is about perception. As we begin the formation of a new administration, I deliberately picked an Igbo man, a Catholic, to be my Chief Security Officer, for the purpose of inclusivity and togetherness, again I deliberately picked a Northern Christian to be my ADC. So the so-called founder of Boko Haram is going to be protected by Christians”
Recall that Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a former Governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress Asiwaju defeated other strong contenders including Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party to clinch the apex political seat in the country.
The presidential candidates of the Labour Party, Peter Obi and that of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar are currently challenging the victory of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the Presidential Election Tribunal in Abuja. The presidential election Tribunal commenced sitting last week Monday to hear the cases by the parties.
