Reno Omokri Reacts To Buhari’s Statement Of Leaving Nigeria Better In 2023 Than In 2015

The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari revealed that he is leaving office with Nigeria better in 2023 than in 2015. He stated that he was Nigeria’s gross domestic product during his administration is higher when compared to the administration of former President Goodluck Ebele Johnathan. His words has caused stirred online, with many claiming that Jonathan’s administration was better and had a higher gross domestic product (GDP) than what Buhari said it had.

Reacting to the President Muhammadu Buhari’s statement, Reno Omokri, a presidential aide to former President Goodluck Ebele Johnathan, took to his Twitter account a few hours to reveal that Buhari saying he is leaving office with Nigeria better in 2023 than in 2015, is a very provocative and blatant lie. According to him, he said “On May 29, 2015, when President Goodluck Jonathan handed over the Presidency of Nigeria to General Buhari, the nation’s Gross Domestic Product was $509.9. Please do not take my word for it. Verify it by yourself. In 2023, as General Buhari prepares to hand over the Presidency to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, our Gross Domestic Product is an estimated $450 billion.”

He alleged that former President Goodluck Ebele Johnathan had a much higher gross domestic product than what Buhari said he met in 2015. He added, “From the above, General Buhari’s statement in his so-called farewell broadcast to the nation, in which he said, “I am confident that I am leaving office with Nigeria better in 2023 than in 2015”, is a very provocative and blatant lie.”
