Renovation of Int’l Conference Centre Suspended Until July — Wike

The Abuja Investments Company Limited (AICL) has declared a temporary suspension of the rehabilitation of the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja until July 5, 2024.

This directive, as stated by the company, was approved by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

According to reports, the minister had initially mandated an eight-month closure of the facility for urgent renovations.

However, AICL explained that the suspension of the renovation was necessary to accommodate two significant events that are important to the nation and international community.

“The Nigeria Air Force Anniversary, tagged The NAF @ 60 Anniversary, themed ‘Nigerian Air Force at 60: Leveraging Strategic Partnerships in Aerospace Innovations for Regional Security,’ will feature a series of activities.

“The Nigeria Oil and Gas Energy Week, which is scheduled to take place in June 2024.

“In parallel, the 23rd NOG Energy Week Conference & Exhibition, a cornerstone event for the international energy sector,” the statement added.

While regretting any inconvenience this might have caused, the AICL said it remains committed to providing a world-class venue for conferences, conventions, and cultural events in Abuja.’
