However, Sanusi Lamido welcomed Mufti Menk into his Lagos home with open arms.
According to Ashraf, Mufti Menk enjoyed the previous Emir’s company and spent time with him while discussing a variety of issues.
Mufti Menk went to see the former Emir in an effort to mend fences between Muslims in Nigeria and the government. Both men are respected leaders in Nigeria’s Muslim community, and their meeting bodes well for the future of Islam in Nigeria.
