Residents kill six bandits, rescue kidnapped relatives in Sokoto community 

Residents of Bimasa community in Tureta Local Government Area of Sokoto state took a stand and fought back against bandits that attacked the community, killing six of them and rescuing people who had been kidnapped.

The chairman of Tureta Local Government, Aliyu Tureta, confirmed the attack, saying community members tracked down the bandits into the forest and engaged them.

“They managed to free several relatives that were kidnapped as well as rustled cattle. The people also captured one of the bandits and brought him back to the community.” Tureta revealed. 

He also called for strengthened security around the community to dismantle any attempt to retaliate. 

The Sokoto state police command is yet to comment on the development officially.
