Responses after Nigeria gives up a goal from set pieces against Zimbabwe in the first half

After Nigeria’s national soccer team conceded a goal from a set piece in the first half of their match against Zimbabwe, social media users quickly pointed the finger onto goalie Francis Uzoho.

After a dismal tie with Lesotho in their initial group match, the Super Eagles were searching for their first victory of the CAF World Cup Qualifiers. However, they got off to a rough start in their second match.

Some Twitter users felt that the team should be held accountable rather than just the goalkeeper, while others contended that Uzoho ought to have done more to save the goal.

In the first half of the game between Nigeria and Zimbabwe, Walter Musona scored a stunning free kick goal from more than 30 yards away, giving the hosts a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute.

While some fans believed that Francis Uzoho, the Nigerian goalkeeper, should have done more to save the goal, others pointed out that Nigeria’s defense as a whole has been struggling to defend set pieces in recent games. However, despite the concerns, there is still hope that the Super Eagles can turn things around and qualify for the World Cup.
