SAD! Man found dead inside car at Lagos church

A middle-aged man was discovered died in his car at Mechanic Village in the Idimu area of Lagos State on Friday, March 29.

The man, identified simply as AJ, was attending a Good Friday service celebration at a nearby church when the event occurred.

According to an eyewitness, the deceased left the service momentarily to retrieve something from his parked car in the church premises but never returned.

Another church member, upon seeing the deceased seated in his car stated that he tried to strike up a conversation but received no response. Worried, the individual moved closer and realized the man was completely still.

“Efforts were made to revive him, but he was already foaming from his mouth and that was when we realized he was dead,” the church member said.

The incident cast a pall of apprehension over the community, leading to the end of the church service while female members of the congregation rallied around AJ’s wife, providing comfort in the face of her profound loss.

“It was a sad day for us because nobody saw that coming. We could no longer go ahead with the service. We prepared refreshments for members that day, but no one could eat. We also tried all we could to console his wife,” another church member stated.

Corroborating the incident, a mechanic present at the scene for a separate task, noted the mood among church members and the support for AJ’s grieving spouse.

“I came to fix my customer’s car in the mechanic village when the incident happened. The members were all moody. The wife of the deceased was also sitting on the floor while the female members of the church were consoling her,” he said.

However, AJ’s body, still in his car, was transported to the nearest hospital where medical personnel confirmed his passing.
