Senate Presidency: President Tinubu Told Me His Preferred Candidate Is Godswill Akpabio- Ali Ndume

Federal Lawmaker representing Borno South senatorial district at the national assembly, senator Ali Ndume has expressed confidence in Godswill Akpabio’s chances of becoming the president of the senate in the 10th Assembly.

Speaking in an interview with Channels TV, Ali Ndume noted that Godswill Akpabio has a lot of advantages over others who are in the race. The Lawmaker noted that Godswill Akpabio does not only have the support of the All Progressives Congress, most of the senators-elect and president Bola Tinubu are in support of his emergence.

Speaking further, Senator Ali Ndume recounted how he was told by the president to spearhead Godswill Akpabio’s campaign. He said he was told by president Bola Tinubu that Godswill Akpabio is his preferred candidate for the senate presidency position.

Ali Ndume said “All advantages are on our side, we have the support of the party, we have the support of the president, we have the support of the most of the senators. We have two candidates that are in front now, that is Yari and Akpabio, my candidate has all the advantages over the other candidates looking at it politically and intellectually. This campaign that I’m doing, even the president is supporting. The president (Bola Tinubu) told me that his preferred candidate is Akpabio and I should lead the campaign.”
