Former Senator Shehu Sani, who previously represented Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone, expressed his thoughts regarding the appointment of Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, to represent Nigeria at the International Art Exhibition in Italy.
Senator Sani acknowledged Obaseki’s competence but questioned the selection process, wondering why Obaseki was chosen for Italy specifically.
In a statement shared on his official X handle on Sunday, Senator Sani stated, “The FG appointed Edo Governor to represent Nigeria at the International Art exhibition in Italy… Obaseki is competent to represent Nigeria anywhere, but I don’t know why they chose him for Italy.”
The appointment comes from President Bola Tinubu’s federal government, designating Governor Obaseki as Nigeria’s representative at the 60th International Art Exhibition organized by La Biennale di Venezia. The exhibition is set to occur in the Veneto region of Italy from April 16 to 18, 2024.
