Shehu Sani Reacts As Ortom Hands Over N187.7 Billion Debt Profile To Incoming The Administration.

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has turned over a debt profile of N187.7 billion to Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia’s incoming administration.

According to reports, Ortom told Alia during a brief ceremony held at the ancient dining hall of the government house in Makurdi that the handover papers in three volumes were a recap of his eight years in office.

The Governor stated that the state’s overall income during his eight-year tenure amounted to N734.9 billion as of April 2023, while the state’s entire debt accrued during the period stood at N187.7 billion, which included unpaid pay, pension arrears, loans, and bonds, among other things.

Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna State senator, has taken to his own Twitter profile to respond to the Benue State Governor’s announcement of a massive debt.
