Shehu Sani Responds to Betta Edu’s Remark That 50 Million People Would Be Taken Out of Poverty in Three Months After Stating 133 Million

Following the announcement made by Betta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, that the Federal Government would eradicate 50 million people from poverty, Shehu Sani, a lawmaker from Kaduna and member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), reacted.

Three months after stating that the goal was to lift 133 million people out of poverty, the Minister reportedly stated that the Federal Government is working to lift 50 million Nigerians out of poverty, according to THE CABLE.

Betta Edu gave the latest figure (50m) while speaking on the second day of a three-day retreat for ministers and presidential aides at the State House conference centre in Abuja.

Her statement has however been generating lots of comments from many Nigerians.

Reacting to her statement, the former Kaduna Lawmaker shared a report where the minister said the target was 133 million people and another where she said the target is now 50 million people.
