Shehu Sani reveals how Bola Tinubu narrowly escaped potential conflict

Shehu Sani, a former senator representing Kaduna Central, has shared details about President Bola Tinubu’s recent appointments, claiming that they saved him from a precarious situation. Sani took to Twitter on Wednesday to explain that Tinubu managed to avoid a metaphorical “poisonous knife” by appointing the Secretary to the State Government (SGF) and Chief of Staff (CoS) wisely.

In his appointments, Tinubu selected George Akume, the former Interior Minister, as the new SGF, and appointed Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, as his CoS. Sani argued that if Tinubu had chosen an individual he referred to as “Mr. Over Sabi,” it would have created discord between Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, while leaving his followers in suspense.

Sani emphasized that such a decision would have positioned “Mr. Over Sabi” as more important than both the President and Vice President, causing potential conflicts within the administration. By carefully avoiding this scenario, Tinubu managed to navigate a potentially dangerous situation.

Senator Shehu Sani tweeted, “If Tinubu had appointed ‘Mr. Over Sabi’ as SGF or Chief of Staff, he would have sown the seed of discord between the President and the Vice President, speak and move around as more important than the two. Tinubu has dodged a poisonous knife.”
