Shehu Sani “The Coupists In Sierra Leone Should Run Away Before Our ECOWAS Chairman Gets Angry.”

Former Kaduna Central senator Shehu Sani responded to a coup attempt in Sierra Leone by using his official X account, now known as Twitter.

There have been seven military takeovers in West and Central Africa in the past four years alone. Members of the regional alliance ECOWAS, which was established to foster stability and collaboration, include four of the nations going through coups.

West African countries have faced political and economic tensions that often threaten their progress and stability. There has been a wave of incessant coups in Africa, starting in Mali before spreading to 6 countries in 3 years. Other countries include Guinea, Chad, Sudan, Burkina Faso, Niger, and Gabon.

Today, it was reported that there was another coup attempt in Sierra Leone in the early hours of Sunday when a group of armed men attacked a military barracks and tried to break into an armory in the capital, Freetown before the attack was foiled.

The outspoken activist, Shehu Sani took to his X handle to air out his view and thought.

According to the statement made known by the former lawmaker, he said:” Military Coup again? The Coupists in Sierra Leone should run away before our Ecowas Chairman gets angry.”
