Vice-President Kashim Shettima on Sunday arrived in Maiduguri ahead of the Eid-El-Fitr celebration, according to reports.
Upon arriving at Maiduguri’s Muhammadu Buhari International Airport, Shettima was greeted by party chieftains, State Executive Council members, and Alhaji Umar Kadafur, the Deputy Governor of Borno.
As is customary during these festive times, security has been stepped up in Maiduguri and the surrounding areas.
Depending on the Lunar calendar, which marks the beginning of the new Islamic month of Shawwal, the celebration of Eid-El-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan fasting, is anticipated to take place on Tuesday or Wednesday.
