Shock in Kaduna as Armed Men Storm Police Station, Kill Officers

Two officers have reportedly been killed after gunmen raided a police station in Zonkwa town in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Naija News learnt that the incident, which occurred on Friday evening, has left residents in a state of shock.
According to Daily Trust, the gunmen started shooting sporadically immediately they stormed the station located a few meters from Kamyim Hotel, Kurmin-Bi Zonkwa.
Recounting the incident, eyewitnesses said the attackers were attempting to free some suspected vandals who had been arrested earlier in Kachia town.
One of the eyewitnesses said, “They believed that the suspects were being detained at the Zonkwa Police Station.”
“However, it was later gathered that the suspects were not being held at the station. But the havoc had already been done.”
Two officers in uniform were reportedly seen lifeless on the floor, while crowd later gathered at the scene, discussing the incident which further highlights the worsening security situation.
Normalcy is said to have been restored in the town after the attack but the Kaduna State Police Command is yet to issue an official statement on the attack as of the time of filing this report.
