Shocking UTME Error: JAMB Registrar Breaks Silence on Alleged Southeast and Lagos Marginalization!

JAMB Debunks Marginalization Claims in 2025 UTME Results: “No Attempt to Discriminate Against Any Region or Group”The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified that there was no intention to marginalize any region or group in the recently concluded 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
During a meeting with the management board on Wednesday, JAMB’s Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, explained that the widespread issues with the 2025 exam results were caused by a technical glitch. Oloyede emphasized that the errors that led to mass failures among candidates were purely technical in nature and not politically motivated or aimed at any region, including the Southeast.
Addressing concerns and false claims suggesting the examination body was plotting to marginalize students from southeastern states, Oloyede affirmed that the 2025 UTME results were never intentionally compromised.
He expressed regret over the technical difficulties experienced, acknowledging the impact on candidates and reaffirming JAMB’s dedication to maintaining the integrity and standards of the examination process.
In a show of respect and solidarity, participants at the meeting also observed a one-minute silence in honour of a candidate who tragically lost their life during the examination.
