Single Fingerprint Linked to Numerous Votes Shakes Ododo, APC Legal Team

44A forensic expert’s report was delivered in court during the current SDP-APC legal battle at the National Judicial Institute, prompting concerns from the attorneys for Ododo and the APC.

The opposing solicitors claimed that because they had only gotten the documents the day before, they required additional time to examine them.

The chairman of the tribunal overruled the objections and decided in favour of Muritala Yakubu Ajaka and the SDP, allowing the expert to submit his report and face cross-examination. The APC, INEC, and Ododo counsels were surprisingly impressed by the expert’s response and the methods he employed for his analysis during the cross-examination.

The petitioner assigned the forensic expert the responsibility of looking through and evaluating every document and piece of paper used in the Kogi State governorship election on November 11, 2023, including the ballot used for the BVAS system.

Based on the examination, it was discovered that the ballot papers had forged thumbprints on them. One person’s thumbprint was used to identify many ballot papers that they had thumbprinted.

The APC and others who support it in court are now more fearful and tense than before this discovery. It also reveals the full scope of Kogi Central’s electoral malfeasance.

In a related development, Okutekpa SAN, the SDP’s attorney, requested to shut down the petitioners’ witnesses in the hopes that the APC would provide a defence and demonstrate how they truly won the poll. He also underlined how urgent it is to stop witnesses’ homes in Kogi Central from being destroyed or set on fire.

Determining the admissibility of the ballots that were fraudulently utilised in Okene, Okehi, Adavi, and Ajaokuta LGA was the main goal of today’s session.
