SPORT NEWS: PSG Legend Okocha Delighted to See Bayer Leverkusen’s Boniface Join Osimhen and Awoniyi in Super Eagles

Former Nigerian international, Austin Okocha, expresses his excitement at the inclusion of Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface in the Super Eagles, as reported by Soccernet.ng.

Boniface, who made a remarkable start in the Bundesliga after his move from Union Saint-Gilloise, has already scored six goals, contributing to Bayer Leverkusen’s joint leadership in the league alongside Bayern Munich.

The emergence of talents like Boniface, Victor Osimhen in Serie A, Taiwo Awoniyi in the English Premier League, Terem Moffi in Ligue 1, and Gift Orban in the Belgian First Division A showcases the wealth of attacking prowess among Nigerian players in top European leagues.

Okocha is optimistic about the future of Nigerian football, emphasizing that these young talents are yet to reach their prime. He believes it is crucial for the Super Eagles’ coaching staff to harness this abundance of talent for international success.

Okocha shared his thoughts, stating, “He’s [Boniface] been amazing. It’s always great to see one of our own doing well. He gives us hope. It shows we are not short of talent. We [Nigeria] just need to get our act together!”

“It is an exciting time for Nigerian football, and the good thing is their ages; some of them haven’t even hit their prime yet.”

“It’s now about finding a way to getting the best out of them when they come to play for Nigeria.”

Boniface will aim to further his impressive goal tally in the Bundesliga when Bayer Leverkusen faces Mainz at the MEWA ARENA on Saturday.
