SPORTS: Chelsea victory against Man United turning point for fans to have trust – Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino believes nights like their dramatic late victory over Manchester United will help build a passionate relationship between the Chelsea players and supporters at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea came out on top in an incredible Premier League fixture at Stamford Bridge on Thursday. The Blues took a two-goal lead inside 20 minutes, which was then wiped out by half-time before Manchester United went 3-2 up after the break.

However, two goals in one minute by Cole Palmer, completing the forward’s first Blues hat-trick, sealed an unbelievable 4-3 win deep into added time and sparked wild celebrations on and off the pitch at the Bridge.

“Of course I enjoyed it,” said Pochettino, adding: “It was amazing because I was thinking we deserved it, we were the better team today. It was fair when we scored in the last minute. We started the game really well and at 2-0 for us the game was under control. Then we made a mistake and we suffered a big emotional impact. It wasn’t easy to deal with this.

“In the second half again we controlled the game and we conceded in transition. Of course the way we conceded the three goals was disappointing because I think we should be better in these types of situations. But if you analyse the game I think it was a fair result, three points for us.

“And to finish in the way that we finished, for the connection between our players and fans, it was a very good thing that happened for us tonight and it should be a turning point for the team and the fans to have trust in each other.”
