Victor Osimhen has expressed his love for Napoli fans just days after his agent threatened legal action against the Serie A champions.
The 24-year-old was mocked by the Italian outfit on TikTok after he missed a penalty in the 0-0 draw away at Bologna last weekend.
Napoli striker Osimhen has insisted his love for the club is ‘unwavering’ amid the TikTok saga
He has scored in his last two matches since his agent threatened legal action
Napoli, who in another video labelled the Nigerian striker as a ‘coconut’ – widely viewed as a racial slur – have taken down their social media posts.
Their initial posts led Osimhen’s representative, Roberto Calenda, to state he is considering taking action against the club.
Rudi Garcia’s side responded by stating they meant no offence to Osimhen, who is understood to be on Chelsea‘s radar.
Osimhen has scored in each of Napoli’s two matches since their trip to Bologna, though he decided against taking a spot-kick in the midweek 4-1 win over Udinese.
His celebrations against Udinese and Leece were muted, with the forward also deleting all-but one picture relating to Napoli on his Instagram account.
It led to fears from fans that the player is unhappy in Naples, but Osimhen made it clear his love for the fans is ‘unwavering’.
In a statement released on his Instagram story, Osimhen said: “Coming to the city of Naples in 2020 was a wonderful decision for me.
“The people of Napoli have shown me so much love and kindness, and I will not allow anyone to come between us.

The Nigeria international is believed to be on Chelsea’a radar
“The passion of the people of Naples fuels my fire to always play with my heart and soul, and the love for the badge is unwavering as I wear it with pride.
“The accusations against people of Naples are untrue. I have a lot of friends that are Napolitans and have become part of my family and everyday life.
“I appreciate Nigerians and everyone for leading their voices to support and reach out to me.
“I’m forever grateful. Let’s support unity, respect and understanding. FORZA NAPOLI SEMPRE.”
His message to the fans comes just hours after Napoli’s long-serving social media executive Alessio Fortino resigned amid the saga.
