Super Eagles Striker Gives Orkan Buruk Sleepless Nights Ahead of Galatasaray vs Trabzonspor Super Lig Clash
Galatasaray vs Trabzonspor: Super Eagles Star Worries Orkan Buruk Before Super Lig Showdown
Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu is a source of worry for Galatasaray’s coaching staff ahead of their Turkish Super Lig clash against Trabzonspor at Rams Park on Saturday.
The Cimbom currently lead the Super Lig table with 28 points after ten games, while Trabzonspor sit second with 23 points from ten games.
This weekend, both clubs will lock horns for the first time this season, in what is expected to be a cracker.
The two teams are led by two Nigerian strikers Paul Onuachu and Victor Osimhen, both of whom are deadly goalscorers.
The latter is one of the best strikers in Europe, but he has not fully hit his stride in the domestic league yet, as he has been hampered by injuries.
Onuachu, on the other hand, has taken the Super Lig by storm, with seven goals and one assist in 10 games. He has proven to be lethal in front of goal, bagging two Goal of the Month Awards for himself.
Standing at 2.01 meters, the 30-year-old striker is currently one of the tallest players in the Super Lig, so he has a massive presence in the final third.
According to Ajanspor, this is giving the Galatasaray coaching staff a headache, as their two regular center-backs Davinson Sanchez and Abdulkerim Bardakci are 1.87 and 1.85 meters tall.
This means that they are at a disadvantage when defending against Onuachu, who is great at using his body to his advantage.
How Galatasaray Want To Nullify Paul Onuachu’s Threat
Per Ajanspor, Galatasaray’s tallest players is Wilfred Singo. But he is currently nursing a hamstring injury and is a doubt for the game.
As such, the defending Super Lig champions have now added special training on crosses and dead balls to their routine to neutralize Paul Onuachu’s goal threat.
Midfielder Mario Lemina, who is 1.85 meters might also get extra defensive duties, in order to keep Onuachu in check.
Nonetheless, Galatasaray are still the favourites going into the game. Asides from their quality on paper, they have won all previous five of their meetings against Galatasaray.
