Super Falcons defender Tosin Demehin has announced her departure from Turkish Women’s Super Lig giants Galatasaray after two years at the club.
The Nigerian international joined Galatasaray Women from French side Stade de Reims in 2024 on an initial one-year contract before the club extended her stay after she established herself as a regular.
Galatasaray, however, could not repeat the success of their 2023/24 title-winning campaign during Demehin’s time with the club, and the Nigerian centre-back has now brought her spell in Turkey to an end.
The former Rivers Angels defender announced her departure in a message shared on Instagram, expressing gratitude to the club and their supporters.
“Thank you, Galatasaray, for an incredible chapter. It has been an honour to wear this badge and represent this great club. I leave with great respect, gratitude, pride and unforgettable memories. Wishing the club continued success,” she said.
Demehin has yet to reveal her next destination, although the 23-year-old is expected to attract interest as clubs across Europe prepare for the new season.
The defender recently featured for the Super Falcons at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where Nigeria crashed out in the quarter-finals and missed out on qualification for the World Cup play-offs.
She received a red card in Nigeria’s second group match against Zambia, but the Super Falcons survived the setback to claim a 1-0 win.
