Swear With Quran That You Didn’t Steal From Public Funds — El-Rufai Challenges Ex- Kaduna Governors

Kaduna Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai has challenged former governors of the state to swear on the Holy Quran that they did not steal from public funds to build houses in the state and in Dubai.

El-Rufai made the challenge during a press conference on Monday. He said that he was making the challenge because he was “tired of hearing former governors lie about their assets.”

“I am tired of hearing former governors lie about their assets,” El-Rufai said. “I am tired of hearing them say that they did not steal from public funds when we all know that they did.”

El-Rufai said that he had evidence that former governors of Kaduna had stolen from public funds to build houses in the state and in Dubai. He said that he was willing to share this evidence with the public, but that he wanted the former governors to swear on the Quran first.

“I am willing to share my evidence with the public, but I want the former governors to swear on the Quran first,” El-Rufai said. “I want them to swear that they did not steal from public funds to build houses in the state and in Dubai.”

“Let the past Governors face the people of Kaduna State and swear with the Holy Qur’an that they never stole from the government coffers. I can swear I never stole a Kobo from the government coffers.”

El-Rufai’s challenge has been met with mixed reactions. Some people have praised him for his honesty and for his willingness to expose corruption. Others have criticized him for politicizing the issue and for trying to score political points.

Only time will tell whether El-Rufai’s challenge will have any impact. However, it is clear that he is determined to fight corruption in Kaduna State.
