Taraba Police Probe Student’s Death at Boyfriend’s Residence

Operatives of the Taraba State Police Command have commenced an immediate investigation into the death of a female student of Taraba State University, in Jalingo, who was found dead on Friday in her boyfriend’s apartment.
The victim, identified as Comfort Jimtop, an indigene of Takum Local Government area of the state, was said to be in 100-level from the department of Mass Communication.
It was learnt that Comfort’s lifeless body was found in the afternoon, with empty bottles of alcohol beside the bed where she lay.
Confirming the unfortunate development to newsmen on Saturday, Spokesman for Taraba State Police Command, Leshen James, disclosed that security operatives are putting efforts together to apprehend the boyfriend, identified as Emmanuel Shata, and other tenants who reportedly abandoned the house immediately after the discovery.
He said: “When our men arrived at the residence, nobody was found. The boyfriend and other tenants had abandoned the house.
“We are working hard to locate the boyfriend and the fleeing tenants. A thorough investigation will be carried out to determine what happened.”
