The bandits were telling us that they had fulfilled all ten conditions-According to Sheikh Gumi

Renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has voiced concerns on the way the Nigerian government is handling banditry, especially in the states of Katsina and Zamfara. He thinks that because the previous attempts to address the problem were not carried out completely, they failed. Gumi draws attention to the fact that although the bandits asserted they had complied with the terms of their deal with the government, the government has not kept up its end of the bargain, failing to deliver the necessary Borehole.

According to Daily Trust, Gumi said, “Some people are very pessimistic about it, that it was tried in Katsina and Zamfara states but it failed. I would tell you that it was not wholeheartedly executed because when we went to one camp, the bandits were telling us in front of government officials that they had fulfilled all ten conditions (given to them by the federal government)…and yet the government has not fulfilled its own which is a borehole they requested.”
