The governor wants to impose a successor on the people of Kogi State, According to SDP Candidate, Murtala Ajaka

Murtala Ajaka, the Social Democratic Party’s (SDP) candidate for governor of Kogi State, has made a serious accusation: he says there is a plot to kill him before the state’s governorship election on November 11, 2023. This allegation comes after an alleged incident in the state’s Dekina Local Government District.

Vanguard claims that Mr. Ajaka reported the purported attack and attempt on his life to the Abuja police authorities, pleading for help. He made note of the fact that the attackers didn’t seem to be from Kogi State and that the attacks seemed to have been planned by a single leader.

He stated, “The attacks are taking place under one commander. You can see the vehicles. The civil defense officers they use there are not from Kogi State. They are in Kogi State for the election. The event happened in Dekina Local Government, where I usually stay when in Dekina. Their target was to get me, my campaign Director-General, and the APC zonal chairman, Mr. Ahmad Ata, assassinated. That was their target. I have an audio tape with details.”

In addition to the alleged assassination plot, Ajaka accused the current Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, of attempting to impose his chosen successor on the people of the state. According to Ajaka, the people of Kogi State do not want Governor Bello’s choice as their next leader, and they firmly support his candidacy.

“The governor wants to impose a successor on the people of Kogi State. But they don’t want Yahaya Bello anymore,” Ajaka said.
