The 2023-2024 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) will officially commence on September 9 across the country as the matchday one fixtures are released earlier today, August 29.

The 2023-2024 NPFL season was ought to commence on August 27 but was moved to September 9 to give room for the installation, testing, and training of personnel that would operate the newly acquired AI cameras, which would be used to stream the league on a digital platform this season.

The draw of the season was earlier scheduled to take place on August 25, but it had to be moved to August 29 in line with the new development in the Nigerian elite league.

Based on the draw, the matchday one will commence on Saturday, September 9, and end on September 10.
