“They Feel They Can Do Anything & Get Away With It” Labour Party Reacted To Plans To Renovate Tinubu’s Residence

The Labour Party has responded to rumours that Vice President Kashim Shettima’s Lagos home and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential mansion are slated for renovations. Both official residences are expected to cost a total of N7 billion, and the N2.176 trillion supplemental budget, which just passed the National Assembly’s second reading, will pay for them.

As an opposition party, the Labour Party, represented by Tanko Yunusa, a spokesperson for the Obi Datti Presidential Campaign Council, has expressed its concerns. They believe that these expenditures misplace priorities and hinder the country’s progress, and therefore, they strongly disapprove of such actions, which they view as against the best interests of Nigerians.

Yunusa further emphasized that this disapproval extends to various other uses of taxpayers’ funds, such as yacht expenses, home renovations, and unnecessary car purchases. The party sees these actions as detrimental and views them with great concern. He highlighted the perception that those in power may believe they can act with impunity, and the disregard for the country’s interests is excessive.

The recent statement by Tanko Yunusa has garnered significant reactions from many Nigerians, prompting discussions and debates on the matter.
