Tinubu Deserves Credit for Bold Subsidy Removal

Sunday Dare, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Public Communications and Orientation, has praised the president’s commitment to Nigeria’s economic reforms, particularly the removal of the fuel subsidy.

In a recent interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Dare highlighted Tinubu’s tireless work ethic and urged Nigerians to be patient as the reforms take effect.

According to Dare, Tinubu’s dedication to governance is unparalleled.

“Tinubu is adept at governance,” Dare stated, describing him as a man “who burns the midnight oil when other men of easy virtue are carousing around.”

He shared that when he worked closely with the president, they often worked until 4, 5, or even 6 a.m.

Dare acknowledged that Tinubu’s decision to remove the fuel subsidy and introduce other reforms has not been easy, yet he believes these bold steps were necessary.

“He took the road less travelled by rolling out those policies,” Dare said, explaining that the subsidy removal and other measures were intended to resolve long-standing economic issues.

Despite growing public discontent and recent protests over the economic challenges caused by these policies, Dare maintained that Tinubu’s focus remains on addressing the nation’s problems.

“Although he acknowledges the hardship, he has stuck to his vision,” Dare remarked, confident that these reforms will eventually benefit Nigerians.

The administration continues to ask for patience as it navigates the difficult terrain of economic restructuring, with Dare underscoring Tinubu’s resolve to deliver on his promises.
