President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated the Hausa people on the occasion of Hausa Day, praising their contributions to the unity and progress of Nigeria.
Tinubu described the Hausa people as “great pillars” who play a vital role in the country’s development.
He also highlighted the growth of the Hausa language and its importance as a major language of communication and commerce.
The President said he was pleased to congratulate the Hausa community as the celebration takes place at the historic Daura Palace in Katsina State.
Hausa Day, also known as Ranar Hausa, is observed annually on August 26 to celebrate the Hausa language, culture and heritage.
The occasion has grown into an international celebration of Hausa identity and cultural heritage.
The celebration brings together members of the Hausa community and cultural enthusiasts to promote the language, traditions and historical contributions of the Hausa people to Nigeria and beyond.
