According to him, “in every democracy, and I just came out from a meeting with the president, In fact, we had meetings with the president twice today. Earlier on, he called the governors around noon; we had the meeting, and the president actually said, I cannot force people that I prefer to work with, but I’m pleading with you to help me convince the members of the national assembly. I have a choice; I would have wished to work with so and so people, but I’m not forcing it on you. And it happens everywhere. I lived in the US for most of my career; it happens in the US. Whoever will be speaker, whoever will be head of the Senate, the president will like so and so to be, but it’s not compulsory. My choice is the person that I’ve worked with in the last four years. I met him as a speaker; I worked with him, and we had a very peaceful relationship. Nassarawa State is always considered one of the most peaceful states.”
