I‘ll Not Disappoint Nigerians–Tinubu

Disclosing this when he was conferred the National Honour of Grand Commander of Order of Federal Republic, (GCFR), on Thursday, Jagaban as he his fondly called stated that he understood the task ahead of him, promising not to disappoint anybody.

Corruption resides in Aso Rock – Ortom

The out-going Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has alleged that ” corruption resides in the (Presidential) Villa”.

Ortom who made the allegation while featuring on Arise Television interview, accused the Nigeria seat of power of orchastrating his defeat at the senatorial poll.

The Governor who, however, said that he had forgiven and let go, claimed that they wanted him out by all means “because they thought I was on their way.”

“The celebration of my defeat which was orchastrated by the (Presidential) Villa showed they wanted me out at all cost. Monies were spent to stop me.”

FEC approves WEE policy for optimal growth

The Federal Executive Council has approved an empowerment policy for women in the country.

The Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs. Pauline Tallen, who disclosed this to State House correspondents, on Wednesday in Abuja, expressed the hope that the new policy, called WEE, would help bring about optimal development in the country. She said: “Yesterday, the Federal Executive Council approved the WEE Policy. The WEE Policy is Women’s Economic Empowerment. It is a policy dialogue that we’ve been working on for over one year.

”We’ve traversed all around the country to the 36 states, having dialogues with the private sector, rural dwellers, to find the best way to empower women and get them into the mainstream of nation building.” Tallen said, “You’ll agree with me that women constitute over 50 percent of the population, and the surest way to national development is to involve the total population of the country.

Doguwa Exonerated Of Murder Charges

Report coming from the police and the Kano State Ministry of Justice, Department of Public Prosecution, DPP, has cleared the House of Representatives Majority Leader Alhassan Ado Doguwa of murder charges.

The reports said there is no substantive evidence found from the police case files to charge him with culpable homicide.

Kano State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice Musa A. Lawan, indicated on Thursday while briefing journalists on the findings and legal recommendations of the government on the criminal charges filed against the lawmaker that available evidence contained in the police case diary indicated no sufficient evidence to link Doguwa with the said offences despite contradictory comments of witnesses against the suspect.
