Wait For Your Time – Lalong Warns Plateau Gov-elect

The Plateau State governor, Simon Bako who, has warned the state governor elect- Caleb Mutfuwang, against directing banks and organisations to stop transacting with his government.

Lalong also warned the governor to stop threatening civil servants of the state, saying his the mandate given to him still subsists until May 29.

In a statement issued by the state Commissioner for Information and Communication, Dan Manjang, on Thursday, Lalong said, “It has again become necessary for the Plateau State Government to once again remind citizens, corporate bodies and other stakeholders that the mandate of Governor Simon Bako Lalong still subsists untill 29th May 2023.

“This reminder has become necessary because of pronouncements, covert and overt actions of some persons and groups with the aim of truncating the remaining mandate of the Lalong administration before it hands over to the next Government.”

Yobe govt frees 115 inmate

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has granted pardon to 115 inmates serving various jail terms across correctional centres in the state.

This was disclosed by the Advisory Committee on Prerogative of Mercy and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Legal Matters, Barrister Saleh Samanja, while presenting a report on strategies adopted by the Committee in selecting the benefiting inmates.

According to the Chairman, the Committee had visited correctional centers in Potiskum, Gashu’a and Nguru and came up with a listed of inmates to be freed.

Abia enemies fighting hard to stop Otti’s inauguration — CAN

Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Abia State chapter, Apostle Emmanuel Agonmuo, has raised the alarm that the enemies of the state are still fighting hard to scuttle the inauguration of the Governor-elect, Dr Alex Otti scheduled for Monday, May 29.

The CAN boss who raised the alarm at an interdenominational dedicatory service for the state held at the Assemblies of God, Item Street Umuahia, said that the enemies are currently shopping for a willing Judge in the North and South West who would collect money and grant them injunction to stop Otti’s inauguration.

Recall that a Federal High Court sitting in Kano, had last week, invalidated the candidacy of Labour Party candidates including Otti’s but the court later denied sacking the Abia Governor -elect contrary to viral media reports.

Otti’s Transition Council in a swift reaction, accused the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state of masterminding the controversial judgement.

Kukah to youths: Travel abroad with a purpose of returning to develop Nigeria

Mathew Kukah, Catholic Bishop of Sokoto, says Nigerians traveling abroad should do so for the purpose of returning to develop the country.

Speaking during an inauguration lecture on Saturday, Kukah said the incoming administration must rise up to the challenge of uniting the country.

He said Nigerians traveling abroad must be given a reason to return, adding that the incoming leadership must manage the diversity and create a habitable country.

“I will also end by saying right now that 133 million Nigerians are suffering from various levels of multi-dimensional poverty,” he said.
