Adjourn Case Against Me Indefinitely—Yahaya Bello Tells Court....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Former Kogi governor Yahaya Bello has asked the Federal High Court, Abuja, to adjourn, indefinitely, the ongoing case instituted against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC).

He also asked the court to vacate its arrest order on him, pending the determination of an appeal he filed at the Court of Appeal, Abuja.

Bello’s demands are contained in a letter written by Musa Yakubu, his Counsel, who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria(SAN).

The letter was dated July 12 and addressed to the trial Judge, Justice Emeka Nwite, ahead of Bello’s arraignment scheduled for Wednesday, July 17.

Bello is being tried for allegedly laundering N80 billion.

Cholera Kills 103 In 3,623 Cases

The cholera outbreak in Nigeria has claimed 103 lives from 3,623 suspected cases across 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) reported that the cases and deaths covered 187 Local Government Areas (LGAs) as of July 15.

Lagos, Bayelsa, Abia, Ebonyi, Katsina, and Zamfara states lead in the number of cases and fatalities, contributing 83 per cent to the overall burden of the disease.

Despite this, the country has been recording declining cases and fatalities compared to preceding months when the outbreak was first recorded in 2024, the agency stated.

PDP governors arrive Enugu for meeting

Ten out of the 13 governors elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have so far arrived the Enugu State Government House for the party’s Governors Forum meeting on Wednesday.

The governors were Oluwaseyi Makinde of Oyo, Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Godwin Obaseki of Edo, Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau, Agbu Kefas of Taraba and Dauda Lawal of Zamfara states.

Others were Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers and the host governor, Peter Mbah of Enugu State.

Sanwo-Olu splashes N427.7m on corps members, gives N100m to NYSC

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has doled out N427.7 million to the 4,277 members of the Batch B Stream 1 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) posted to the state.

He announced the donation during the close of orientation camp yesterday. Each corps member will get N100,000.

The governor also donated N100 million to the NYSC and support staff, and approved N5 billion for building of the permanent orientation camp in Agbowa, Ikorodu.

Governor Sanwo-Olu also promised automatic employment into the civil service for 100 best corps members after their service year.

He admonished the corps members to exemplify the lessons of discipline, perseverance, and teamwork imbibed during the three-week orientation course.
