Today’s Headlines:PDP Dissolves Ebonyi, Ekiti States Executives;Tinubu Meets Plateau, Akwa Ibom Govs

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dissolved the party’s Ebonyi and Ekiti State executive committees with immediate effect.

Mr Debo Ologunagba, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Mr Debo Ologunagba said this in a statement in Abuja.

Ologunagba said that the NWC approved the dissolution of the two states executive after extensive deliberations and consultations.

He said the decision of the NWC was pursuant to Sections 29(2)(b) and 31(2)€ of the Constitution of the PDP (as amended in 2017).

“The PDP charges all leaders, critical stakeholders and teeming members of our Party in Ebonyi and Ekiti States respectively to remain united and focused on the task ahead,” Ologunagba said.
Tinubu meets Plateau, Akwa Ibom Govs

President Bola Tinubu is meeting with Govenrors Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau) and Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting, which started minutes after 11am, is coming hours after the President held his maiden parley with the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) where he called on the Governors to work with the Federal Government.

Eno was however not at the Wednesday meeting.

It is not clear, as at the time of filing this report whether Tinubu is meeting both Governors together or in separate sessions.
IGP commends NASS, Nigerians over passage of Police Pension Board Bill

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has commended the National Assembly for the passage of Police Pension Board Bill and the Nigeria Police Force College, Training School and Institution (Establishment) Bill.

DAILY POST recalls that the upper chamber of the Assembly had on Tuesday announced that it had passed the bill.

Reacting, the IGP described the passage of the two Bills as a milestone achievement with positive impact that will redefine the act of policing in the country.

He stressed that the bill would standardize the training capacity of the Force, enhance police productivity and address the reoccurring pension related hardship.

In a statement by the Force Spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Baba pointed out that the “removal of the Nigeria Police Force from the Contributory Pension Scheme and establishment of NPF Pension Board is a welcome development and will be resourceful in addressing the plight of Police retirees.
Leave us out of your problems – Osun PDP warns APC

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chairman in Osun State, Sunday Bisi, has warned the All Progressives Congress, APC, to leave them out of their crises.

Bisi also advised the APC leaders to go back to the school of political management before dreaming of returning to Osun Government House.

In a statement obtained by DAILY POST on Wednesday, he assured Osun residents that the PDP administration will govern the State for a long time.

He said, ”Osun APC needs to return to school of political party management before dreaming of returning to Osun government house anytime soon because the door is permanently shut to darkness for ever.

“We will congratulate them for at least summoning courage to confront the returning of their leader now turned enemy, former Governor Rauf Aregbesola with an acrimonious stakeholders meeting which is the first they could muster since the good people of Osun State retired them from the government house.
