Tinubu Asks NEC To Work On Subsidy Palliatives

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu yesterday gave marching orders to the National Economic Council (NEC) to immediately work out palliatives to mitigate the effects of petrol subsidy removal.

He met for the first time with the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) members.

The governors, who President Tinubu mandated to end poverty in their states, restated their backing for subsidy removal.

Senate Okays Police Pension Board Bill

The Senate on Tuesday passed the Bill for the Establishment of a Police Pension Board.

This followed the recent exit from the Contribution Pension Scheme by the National Assembly workers.

Pension operators have however said the expected funding provided in the police bill could not be sustained by the government if it was approved.

I Bear No Grudge Against Anyone In Osun–Aregbesola

The immediate-past Minister of Interior and ex-govenor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has said that he holds no grudge against anyone in Osogbo or Osun State in general.

Aregbesola, who arrived the state capital on Wednesday to a warm reception, after his tenure as minister, said this while he paid homage to the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, and his chiefs.

I Would Have Provided Various Relief Policies–Obi

The Labour Party (LP) candidate during the presidential election of February 25, Peter Obi, says he would have provided various relief policies for Nigerians after removing the subsidy on fuel.

Recall that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) during his inauguration at the Eagle Square in Abuja on May 29 announced the removal of subsidy payment on Premium Motor Spirit also known as petrol.
