Some loyalists and supporters of the embattled former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello have sought spiritual intervention over his issues with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The EFCC has been making efforts to arraign Bello on 19 counts bordering on alleged money laundering, breach of trust and misappropriation of funds to the tune of N80.2 billion.
Sahara Reporters earlier reported that Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Abuja, last Tuesday, ordered EFCC to serve a copy of the 19 criminal counts against the fleeing Yahaya Bello to his lawyer.
The EFCC chairman, Ola Olukoyede, during the week, said he would resign from office if Bello was not eventually prosecuted for the fraud allegations levelled against him.
Flights Diverted As Fire Breaks Out At Lagos Airport

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, (FAAN), has diverted all flight operations from the E wing of the Murtala Muhammad International Airport (MMIA) following a fire at the terminal.
The fire started in the early hours of Thursday after a smoke was detected at E54 bridge.
It was learnt that officials of the Airport Rescue and Firefighting Services, (ARFFS), were swiftly mobilised to contain the fire which has cut off power supply at the section of the old international terminal.
Daily Trust reports that the old terminal has experienced a series of fire disasters, necessitating its intermittent shutdown.
Dissociate yourselves from Ganduje’s endorsement – North Central APC tells state party chairmen

The North-Central All Progressive Congress, APC, Forum has asked state chairmen of the party from the region to dissociate themselves from the recent vote of confidence passed on the National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Ganduje.
It said the vote of confidence which the state chairmen of the party passed on Ganduje last Tuesday, is not in the interest of the North-Central or the party in general.
The forum’s Chairman, Alhaji Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, disclosed this to journalists in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
He said the North Central APC Forum, along with various leaders and chieftains of the APC from the region, had intensified the push for the zoning of the National Chairmanship position of the party to the region owing to its contribution to the progress of the party and its victory in 2023 elections.
Man remanded over alleged armed robbery

A Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court on Thursday remanded a 33-year-old man, Stanley Julius, in a corrections centre for alleged armed robbery.
The police charged Julius, who is unemployed and resides in Ungwan Sarki Malali, Kaduna, with conspiracy, robbery and unlawful possession of stolen property.
Magistrate Ibrahim Emmanuel, who did not take Julius’ plea, adjourned the case until May 22 for mention and receipt of legal advice from the state Director of Public Prosecution, DPP.
The Prosecutor, Insp Chidi Leo, had earlier informed the court that the suspect committed the offence on April 11 at Kinkinau Kaduna.
