Tonye Cole identifies four key players in the resolution of the Rivers crisis.

Tonye Cole, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Rivers State in the 2023 elections, has outlined a high-level negotiation plan to address the state’s ongoing political crisis.

Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show, Cole stressed that the return of peace depends on a meeting among four influential state leaders.

Cole highlighted the importance of setting aside personal agendas for the sake of Rivers State.

“There are four of them who must sit down at a table and decide that Rivers State is more important than personal interest and agenda. Till then, we are not going to have peace,” Cole stated.

He identified the four leaders as former Rivers State Governor Peter Odili, former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, current Governor Siminalayi Fubara, and former Governor Nyesom Wike.

According to Cole, these key figures must acknowledge their collective responsibility to bring stability back to the oil-rich state.

In addition, he suggested President Bola Tinubu could oversee the meeting to ensure neutrality and commitment to resolution.

“The President can superintend this if he really wants peace in Rivers State,” Cole noted, adding that a clear roadmap should be established to prevent further conflict.

Cole warned that without decisive action, “as soon as Fubara’s time is about to end, you will see an all-out war.”

His call for a high-level meeting underscores growing concerns over Rivers’ political unrest following recent local government elections, further intensifying tensions in the state.
