Tottenham’s manager, Ange Postecoglou wins third consecutive Premier League MOTM award

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has secured a third consecutive Premier League Manager of the Month award after winning the prize for October 2023.

The Australian coach won the prize in August and September 2023 after an impressive start to life in the Premier League for the 58-year-old.

He becomes the first boss to claim the award in the first three months of the season and the first coach ever to win the first three Manager of the Month awards available to him.

He joins a league of top managers that have won the award for consecutive three months — Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp, Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, and Antonio Conte.

Postecoglou saw off competition from Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, Aston Villa boss Unai Emery, and Klopp for this month’s award.

Tottenham went through October unscathed as they managed to secure a 1-0 win from a trip to Luton Town on the eve of the international break. They had gone down to 10 men in the first half but still managed to collect three points from their travel.

Also, they picked up wins in two consecutive London derby fixtures, defeating Fulham by two goals to nil before overcoming Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace in a 2-1 win.Despite the excellent results in October, November has not started well for Postecoglou and his men as they lost 4-1 to London rivals Chelsea.

The defeat was not the only slap in the face of Spurs as they picked up two red cards and suspensions. Crucial duo Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie will miss important coming games. Also, James Maddison and Micky van de Ven picked up injuries during the Chelsea tie, depleting Postecoglou’s ranks for their upcoming fixtures.

The former Celtic boss will have to find a way to galvanise his decimated squad for their clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers tomorrow as they look to bounce back from a crushing defeat.
