A National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member assigned to Kebbi State, Tayachibiyacha Ebal, collapsed and died at the Dakin Gari Orientation Camp.
Reports indicate that she suddenly slumped and was quickly rushed to the camp clinic for urgent medical attention.
Subsequently, she was transferred to the Federal Medical Centre in Birnin-Kebbi for further treatment.
Unfortunately, despite the doctors’ efforts to resuscitate her, she succumbed to her condition.
The state Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Alhaji Muhammad Fingila, confirmed the incident to reporters in Birnin Kebbi, adding that her body had been sent back to her home state of Adamawa.
Mr Fingila described the incident as tragic and extended condolences to the grieving family on behalf of the Kebbi government.
Attempts to obtain a response from officials at the NYSC Kebbi State office were unsuccessful, as their spokesperson, Mrs Hadiza, did not answer calls or respond to a text message seeking comment.
