Tragic News: Obasanjo’s Ex-ADC Jemitola Passes Away After Sudden Collapse at Golf Club

Major General Chris Jemitola (rtd), former Aide-de-Camp to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, tragically passed away after collapsing at the IBB Golf Club on Thursday morning.

Family sources revealed that despite swift efforts to rush him to the hospital, he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Jemitola served as Obasanjo’s ADC from 2003 to 2007, during which time he held the rank of colonel, demonstrating unwavering dedication to duty. His career soared as he was later appointed as the Director of Defence Information, followed by a notable tenure as the Defence Attaché at the Nigerian Embassy in Brazil.

Before his retirement, Jemitola held the critical position of Chief of Policy and Plans (COPP) within the Nigerian Army, where his strategic insights shaped military operations. In recent years, he transitioned to the private sector, serving as Senior Advisor for Military Communications at Pinnacle Communications Limited as of 2019.

As the nation mourns this sudden loss, Jemitola’s family has yet to release an official statement, but the impact of his service and the void left by his passing resonate deeply within the military community and beyond.
