The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State has revealed that two members of the State House of Assembly have abandoned the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the opposition party.
Those who switched allegiance are Hon. Sulaiman Hassan Bosko of Mafara I Constituency and Hon. Nura Dahiru representing Birnin Magaji Constituency. Their defection was made public through a statement issued by the PDP’s publicity secretary, Halliru Andi.
The PDP said the lawmakers’ exit from the APC reflects the depth of internal discord and leadership struggles currently troubling the ruling party in the state.
According to the statement, the two lawmakers opted for the PDP because they were seeking stability, progress, and what they consider more credible leadership.
The party attributed their decision partly to the leadership style of Governor Dauda Lawal, commending his efforts in areas such as security, infrastructure development, transparency, and general administration.
Welcoming the new entrants, the PDP said their defection strengthens the party and further reassures residents of its capacity to provide effective governance.
“The PDP Zamfara State Chapter warmly welcomes the two honourable legislators into the party. Their coming further strengthens our movement and reinforces the confidence of the people in the PDP as the only party capable of delivering genuine development and good governance.”
“We assure them of full integration and cooperation as we continue working together for a safer, stronger, and more prosperous Zamfara State.”
