Two individuals who were victims of the attack on worshippers at the Akpamoba-Igbola prayer mountain in the Agbaja region of Lokoja Local Government Area, Kogi State, last Friday, have been successfully rescued, as confirmed by the state Police Command.

The spokesperson for the command, ASP William Aya, identified the rescued individuals as Pastors Adura Kayode and Kingsley Ebong from the City of Grace Prophetic Liberation Church.

He further stated that the rescued pastors have been reunited with their families and that security forces are continuing their search in the surrounding forest to locate additional abducted worshippers.

Comrade Abdullahi Adamu, the Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Council, urged security personnel to maintain their efforts in the search, eliminate all criminal elements from the forest, and restore order to the area.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser, Yusuf Bala, the chairman reassured local residents to remain calm as security forces are actively pursuing the criminals.

The statement also detailed that armed individuals attacked the worshippers, believed to be kidnappers, during a night vigil at Akpamoba-Igbola Mountain last Friday, resulting in an unspecified number being taken into the forest.

With the rescue of the two pastors, the total number of freed victims has now reached three, including a woman named Mary Adams Gur, who regained her freedom on the same night of the incident when state vigilante services intervened in the forest.
