Victor Osimhen Joins Super Eagles Camp Ahead of Nigeria vs Gabon Clash

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has finally arrived at the Super Eagles camp in Morocco as Nigeria prepares for a crucial semi-final showdown against Gabon in the African playoffs for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Osimhen is one of the latest Super Eagles players to join the camp earlier today, November 11, two days before the Nigeria vs Gabon 2026 FIFA World Cup African playoffs clash. His arrival at the camp has increased the number of available players to 23.

At the time of writing, only Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye had yet to join the national team camp in Rabat.

The team includes key players such as captain William Troost-Ekong, Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Tolu Arokodare, Moses Simon, and Raphael Onyedika.

Training sessions have been intense as the squad fine-tunes tactics ahead of Thursday’s match, which kicks off at 5pm Nigerian time at the Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex in Rabat.

Ahead of the game, Troost-Ekong singled out Gabon captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as the biggest threat.

“Gabon is a strong team. Aubameyang continues to lead from the front, causing problems for defenders. I’ve played against him in Saudi Arabia, and I know what he brings. In Africa, you can’t underestimate any team, and we certainly won’t do that with Gabon,” he said.

Naija News reports that the winner will advance to face either Cameroon or the Democratic Republic of Congo in the playoff final, with a spot in the International Continental Playoffs in March 2026 at stake.
