Victor Osimhen Suspended By Italian Football Association Ahead Of Monza Fixture

SSC Napoli forward Victor Osimhen has been suspended by the Italian football association; npflupdates.com reports. Victor Osimhen will not play any part when the reigning Italian champions travel to Monza next week.

The 25-year-old was booked for dissent against Atalanta to underline his frustration on a day Napoli wretched campaign continued as they were outclassed and beaten in front of their own fans at the Estadio Diego Armando Maradona.

Recall, Napoli won the first leg fixture (2-3) of the clash in Bergamo last year, and hoped to do a double against the Gasperini’s men.

Following his suspension, Victor Osimhen will therefore miss next week’s trip to Monza as he serves out a one-match ban for accumulating that number of cautions(5).

Osimhen hasn’t been at best in recent weeks, as he fail to score goals for Napoli, who’s title defence and qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League seems almost impossible.

In another story, Super Eagles forward Sadiq Umar, drew media attention to himself after it was reported that he snubbed shaking hands with interim manager Finidi George earlier this week.

Finidi George was in the dugout when Nigeria lost to Mali in an international friendly. And forward Umar couldn’t get any game time in Super Eagles last two international friendlies despite the absence of other forwards Victor Osimhen, Victor Boniface and Taiwo Awoniyi.

Sports blogger, PoojaMedia, wrote on X, “Not good news about Sadiq Umar coming from Super Eagles camp as it was reported that he refused to shake Finidi cos he didn’t have playing time during both friendlies.

“With what he pulled off during AFCON, he should be careful. He is a good player, but attitude matters.”

Nigerians has been reacting to the unprofessional conduct of the former AS Roma forward. With many charging him to go all out and apologise to the former AFC Ajax Amsterdam winger.
