Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is on the brink of writing his name into Galatasaray’s history books as the Turkish champions prepare to host Bodo/Glimt in Wednesday’s Champions League clash.

Osimhen is just one goal away from becoming the first Galatasaray player ever to score in seven consecutive European matches. He currently shares the record with Burak Yilmaz, who found the net in six straight games back in 2012.

Osimhen matched that milestone last month when his late strike earned Galatasaray a 1-0 win over Liverpool. Now, he has the opportunity to surpass Yilmaz and set a new standard for the Istanbul giants.

The 26-year-old Nigerian striker is expected to lead the attack once again when Okan Buruk’s men welcome the Norwegian champions to Rams Park. He came off the bench in their 2-1 victory over Istanbul Basaksehir at the weekend and is tipped to start in the midweek European fixture.

Since joining Galatasaray, Osimhen has made seven appearances across all competitions, scoring three times. His strong performances have already made him a fan favourite, and Wednesday’s game could further strengthen his growing legacy in Turkey.

A goal against Bodo/Glimt wouldn’t just give Galatasaray a major boost in their Champions League campaign, it would also secure Osimhen a special place in the club’s record books.
