IT WAS SAID HE CAME TO NIGERIA FOR HIS MOTHER’S BURIAL. HIS HOUSE WAS INVADED ON ALLEGTION, HE WAS TRYING TO CREATE A NEW COUNTRY. HE WAS ALSO ACCUSED OF BEING CONFRONTATIONAL ABOUT THE ACTIVITIES OF FULANI HERDERS CAUSING NIGHTMARES ACROSS THE COUNTRY.

SUNDAY ADEYAMO, popularly known as SUNDAY IGBOHO, has returned to Nigeria.

A statement by Igboho’s spokesman, Olayomi Koiki, confirmed that the Yoruba Nation activist was in the country for his mother’s burial.

On Thursday, Koiki disclosed this in a terse statement and a video via his X page.

video from Punch newspaper.

Koiki’s caption read, “I can confirm that Chief Sunday Adeyemo is currently on his way to Igboho Town for the final burial of his mother MRS S.A. Adeyemo.

“The body of MRS S.A Adeyemo was picked up from the mortuary in Saki Town a few hours ago.”

Igboho’s return to Nigeria came after his exile in 2021 when he fled to the Benin Republic following being declared wanted by the Department of State Services (DSS). The DSS had raided his home in Oyo State on allegations of terrorism and declared him wanted for his involvement in advocating for the Yoruba Nation and his confrontations with Fulani herders accused of attacking farmers in the Southwest.

While in Benin Republic, Igboho was arrested and detained while attempting to travel to Germany. After spending two years in a Beninese prison, he was recently released. Unfortunately, during his detention, Igboho’s mother, who resided in Saki, Oyo State, passed away.
