WACL Sparks Change in Babban Tunga with New 500kVA Electrification Project

West African Ceramics Limited (WACL), Nigeria’s leading indigenous tile manufacturer, has commissioned a 500kVA power transformer in the Babban Tunga community of Suleja, Niger State. This electrification initiative is part of WACL’s ongoing corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, aimed at supporting sustainable community development.
As WACL marks 30 years of excellence in the manufacturing industry, the company continues to invest in initiatives that enhance the lives of communities around its operations. The newly installed transformer is expected to provide reliable electricity to schools, homes, and small businesses—boosting education, healthcare, security, and local economic activities.
“This project is about more than power; it’s about empowering lives for Babban Tunga’s future,” said the Managing Director of WACL.
The success of the project was made possible through collaboration with technical partners, local authorities, and most importantly the Babban Tunga community. WACL remains committed to supporting similar initiatives that contribute to Nigeria’s social and economic progress.
