WAHALA! See How INEC Is Planning To Deal With Voters Who Registered More Than Once

Festus Okoye, the National Electoral Commissioner for Information and Voter Education of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said the Commission is yet to take a final decision on whether to prosecute voters who registered multiple times.

INEC had disclosed earlier this week that it found 1,126,359 records out of the 2, 523,458 fresh registrants that registered between June 28, 2021, and January 14, 2022, 1,126,359 to be invalid and consequently delisted them.

According to INEC, it also detected several double, multiple, and ineligible registrants and has consequently invalidated them, adding that the entries are against the law and violators risk a fine or jail term.

β€œYes, we have so many multiple and double registrants. The challenge is there are some of them that acted based on misinformation, and also disinformation.
