The founder of Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo, has discussed what transpired when he fasted for five days while reading the book of Acts. At the conclusion of the third service of the Covenant Day of Open Doors, he shared this with his congregation.
He began by cautioning his flock to take their spiritual lives seriously. He exhorted them to make every effort to develop. He urged them to continue investing time in Bible study and prayer so they might develop their spirits.
“We aren’t asking you to do these things to make others think well of you. It is in your best interest. Your strength is limited if you falter in the face of difficulty, he added.
Then he disclosed that, on his own initiative, he chose to fast for five days while reading the book of Acts, and that as a result, he started to do miraculous deeds, signs, and wonders in his ministry.
“I finished the book of Acts in five days. It was not a fairytale; I read it while fasting. The skies opened up as I descended from that mountain. And you are to hold this rod in your hand to perform signs. The rod represents God’s word. You need the word to make signs, he said.
